Alexa Langweil joined Schafer Thomas Maez PC as an associate attorney in January 2019, after earning her LLM in Estate Planning from the Heckerling Graduate Program at the University of Miami School of Law. She earned her Bachelor of the Arts at the University of Pennsylvania and her law degree from the University of Miami, where she was the recipient of a Dean’s Merit Scholarship and served on the Business Law Review.
Alexa practices in the areas of estate planning, transfer tax planning, trust administration, and probate administration. Alexa enjoys helping clients achieve their legacy goals, by giving clients the information they need to make educated decisions before crafting estate plans tailored for each client.
Prior to joining Schafer Thomas Maez PC, Alexa practiced at a boutique estate planning firm in Denver, where she advised individuals and families on various estate planning techniques. Before moving to Colorado, Alexa worked for a securities law firm in New York City, and a commercial litigation firm in Miami.
Alexa is admitted to practice law in Colorado and is a member of the Trust and Estate Section, Taxation Section, and Elder Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association. She is an American Bar Association reporter for the Heckerling Institute, a national trusts and estates conference. She previously served on the Board of Directors for Camp Wapiyapi, an organization dedicated to providing summer camp to children facing pediatric cancer and their siblings. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
