Clinton Carlisle joined Schafer Thomas Maez PC, as a law clerk in the summer of 2016, and has been an associate attorney since passing the Bar Exam in October 2016. Clinton earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with honors, from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, and received his law degree from the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder, with an emphasis in taxation.
Since joining the firm, Clinton has focused his practice in the areas of estate planning and administration, planning for beneficiaries with special needs, and mergers and acquisitions of privately held companies, as well as business formation, organization, maintenance, and succession planning.
Prior to joining Schafer Thomas Maez PC, Clinton worked for a business and securities law firm in Boulder, Colorado, managing corporate governance documentation, drafting legal opinion letters, and assisting with Securities and Exchange Commission filings. After taking several tax and estate planning courses in law school, Clinton moved to a boutique estate planning firm in Longmont, Colorado, where he worked on complex estate plans and refined his knowledge in various estate and tax planning strategies.
Clinton is admitted to practice law in Colorado and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Boulder County Estate Planning Council, the Adams/Broomfield Bar Association, and the Weld County Bar Association. He currently resides in Erie, Colorado with his wife, who is a veterinarian at Left Hand Animal Hospital in Niwot, Colorado. Clinton is actively involved with the Carbon Valley Rotary Club, and in his free time enjoys golfing, snowboarding, games, and spending time with his family.
