Susan Maez joined Schafer Thomas Maez PC as an associate in 2002. She was named a Shareholder and a Director in 2006.
Susan practices in the areas of estate planning, wealth preservation planning, estate tax and gift tax planning, trust administration and probate administration. She works closely with clients and their trusted advisors to develop and implement an estate plan tailored to each client’s individual situation. Susan also assists personal representatives, trustees and beneficiaries with various estate and trust administration matters.
Prior to her association with Schafer Thomas Maez PC, Susan advised closely-held business owners and other high net worth individuals on various estate planning, wealth preservation, and estate tax reduction techniques. She also served as a Trust Officer and Vice President with a Denver bank.
Susan has been in private practice in Colorado since 1991. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law in California. She is admitted to practice in Colorado. Susan is a member of the Trust and Estate sections of the Colorado Bar Association and the Boulder Bar Association.
Susan resides in Broomfield, Colorado with her husband. She has been actively involved with a variety of local community organizations over the years. Susan enjoys golfing, traveling, fly-fishing, hiking and snowshoeing.
